The bad job boards list
We’ll be adding to this list as new job boards are discussed.
| JobsRadar.com | Buys ads through Google. Looks like an Indeed.com type job board. A job search shows a small list of jobs that you can’t access until you complete a form that is then sent to educational institutions. | LatProJobs.com | Uses a deceptively similar name to a strong branded career Web site to lure people to an unrelated career Web site. |
| CraigsList.org | It’s not really a bad job board. A lot of people have found good jobs using Craig’s List. Also, you can’t beat the price of job postings. It can be a big money saver for employers. However, there are some problems with Craig’s List. Please check out the August 31st, 2009 blog entry for details. |
| AmericanJobs.com | You can’t see the details of any job postings until you complete an extensive registration page. They have all kinds of other state specific sites that are all set up the same. |
| MinesotaJobs.com | One of an almost infinite number of spelling error squatters getting paid when job seekers click on links on their site that takes to job seeker to a Web site they didn’t want to go to. |
| Hound.com | 1. Aggressively spiders (grabs content) from other job boards ignoring their rules about what pages to access causing gross distortions in the site’s statistics. 2. Feeds other job boards inappropriate job listings unrelated to the board (often niche sites). To view some comments by frustrated job board employees, visit here. |
